Job Title: Dental Receptionist
Location: Kidlington Dental Clinic, Kidlington Health Centre, Exeter Road Oxford Road, OX5 1AP
Hours: 22.5 hours per week, Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday

Role type: Temporary for 2 months with possibility of extension
What you’ll be responsible for:
1. Provide cover for a comprehensive reception function as part of a frontline team to deliver high quality service to patients and staff.
2. The post holder will liaise extensively with patients and staff and make all appointments for patients. In addition, there is responsibility for accurate financial transactions including banking, reconciliation and debt collection.
3. Deal with all enquiries in a professional and empathetic manner. These may be via telephone, face to face or written contact.
4. Manage all contacts for emergency appointments and assess each patient's needs before deciding which of several options is appropriate (e.g., emergency appointment required, out of hours suitable, advice from dentist required or alternative access for dental care).
5. Ensure all documentation is completed including NHS dental forms where appropriate.
This role may require you to show evidence of vocational level 3 qualification or at least 2 years relevant experience.
You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust:
1. An in-depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS.
2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times.
3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation.
You’ll have the following skills/experience:
1. Strong reception background.
2. Must be of an empathetic and understanding nature.
3. Polite and friendly manner both over the telephone and face to face.
4. Enthusiastic, confident approach to change, calm and reliable under pressure.
5. NHS experience (highly desirable).
