Here at ISS, as one of the UK's leading Facilities Management (FM) providers, we are looking to develop our H&S resource aligned to our Government client's key Research and Development Campus facility in Weybridge.
The customer are a major central government entity, and this site is largest and most critical, housing critical science, research facilities, and general working spaces, in a campus type set up.
While we provide support to the day to day Facilities - Engineering Maintenance, Cleaning, Catering, Security etc, there is also plenty of construction work going on across the site with various contractors completing high risk activities.
To ensure smooth management of these works, we are looking for a Contractor Management Lead to head up our growing Contractor Management office, which is responsible for the review and implementation of our Safe Systems of Work programme (SSoW)
Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the efficient, compliant, and consistent operation of the Contractor Management Office, ensuring safe work conditions, accurate completion of Site Authority to Work Documents, Permits to Work and adherence to SSOW across the site.
This will include high risk activities like:
* Excavation activities
* Working at Height
* Construction works
* Hot works
* Fire and Life Safety Systems work
* Confined space operations
* Electrical isolations
To be successful here, you will need to engage with a wide group of disparate stakeholders, not just within the immediate H&S community, but the general site operational teams and client stakeholders, including technical, and none technical teams.
We need from you:
* Full H&S qualifications, Nebosh General minimum, any construction biased qualifications being useful such as Nebosh Construction or SMSTS
* Strong knowledge in management of Working at height, hot works, excavations and work related to fire and life safety systems.
* Confident approach to stakeholder engagement
* Skilled and experienced in managing, working at height, hot works, excavations and work related to fire and life safety systems.
* Leadership experience of a small team within a permit office / SSOW management environment with the ability to lead, coach and develop the team.
