A leading engineering and manufacturing company, based in Bristol, is urgently seeking multiple skilled Mechanical Fitters to join its growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a respected organisation known for delivering high-quality fluid system assemblies to a global customer base.
Role Overview
As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for the safe, efficient assembly, inspection, and testing of fluid system assemblies in accordance with customer specifications. This includes the preparation of components using CNC tube-cutting machinery, tube bending to precise tolerances and interpreting technical documentation such as P&IDs, engineering drawings and work instructions.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble and construct machine sub-assemblies and special-purpose machinery with precision.
Operate within very tight tolerances to meet exacting quality standards.
Prepare and complete fabrication work as per the latest revision of customer specifications, P&IDs, 2D/3D CAD drawings and bills of materials (BOMs).
Safely set up and operate tube-bending equipment.
Conduct quality inspections to ensure assemblies meet all dimensional and quality requirements prior to testing.
Interpret and work from engineering drawings and schematics.
Use a variety of hand tools including spanners, screwdrivers, allen keys and pipe bending tools.
Advantageous: Prior experience with Swagelok or similar compression fittings.Health & Safety Responsibilities
Comply with all site health and safety protocols, including correct use of PPE and equipment.
Report any potential hazards or near misses to the Manufacturing Supervisor.
Participate in routine safety activities such as toolbox talks, risk assessments, and daily audits.Essential Criteria
A minimum of 3 years' experience in an engineering, manufacturing, or fabrication environment.
Ability to operate and programme CNC tube-cutting equipment.
Strong competency in reading and interpreting 2D/3D CAD drawings, P&IDs, and BOMs.
Familiarity with welding and orbital welding processes is highly desirable.Desirable Qualifications & Experience
HND or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
Certified training in welding (orbital or conventional) and/or fabrication.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies.How to Apply
