Job summary An exciting opportunity to join an experienced Practice Nurse Team covering a maternity leave. We are looking for someone to work 2 days in the practice focusing on respiratory LTC Reviews but open to combining this with some treatment room work. Main duties of the job Primarily this role is to support the disease management of our patients with respiratory LTC's - asthma and COPD. Some treatment room and general nursing duties as follows: Cytology Wound care Routine immunisations/Childhood immunisations in line with national and local patient group directives. Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs Following agreed clinical protocols with referral to senior nurses or GPs as appropriate Other tasks will include Participation in administrative systems in the Practice Maintain and document accurate medical records at all times according to NMC guidelines. Recognise and manage anaphylaxis according to current UK guidelines Attend and participate in any Practice meetings when required.
