The Role Reporting to the EHS Manager, the Health, Safety and Environment manager will conduit the zero-harm commitment from the senior leadership team through every level of the business. The EHS Advisor will support the EHS Manager and wider business in driving a positive Environmental Health, & Safety strategy within the business. You will coach, collaborate and empower employees at all levels, fostering positive change towards a safety culture of interdependence culture. The role involves ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, conducting risk assessments, promoting best practices, and fostering continuous improvement in workplace safety. Working hours: Monday - Friday 37hours a week. Working style: On - site Responsibilities Assist in the development and implementation of a proactive health and safety culture across the organisation. Support the delivery of health and safety policies, procedures, and best practices in line with legal and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular risk assessments, safety audits, and workplace inspections, ensuring corrective actions are implemented. Investigate incidents, near misses, and hazards, identifying root causes and recommending preventative measures. Deliver safety briefings, toolbox talks, and training sessions to enhance awareness and compliance. Assist with the review and development of method statements, risk assessments, and safe systems of work. Support environmental sustainability initiatives, including waste management, energy efficiency, and pollution control. Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and company sustainability targets. Monitor and report on environmental performance, identifying areas for improvement. Regulatory Compliance & Reporting: Stay up to date with EHS legislation and industry best practices, ensuring compliance across all operations. Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation, ensuring regulatory requirements are met. Assist in preparing reports and presenting findings to management teams. Continuous Improvement Be a role model for developing a culture of continuous improvement through the communications platforms available. Proactively resolve opportunities for improvement by root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventative actions. Effectively implement continual improvement ideas through a planned, coordinated, collaborative and iterative approach. Maintain systems, process and procedures to ensure a continual state of readiness for any internal or external audit. Ensure team are fully converse with all IT systems and are given opportunities to put forward ideas for improvement. Training & Engagement Promote EHS awareness and engagement through workshops, training, and campaigns. Support employee involvement in EHS initiatives to enhance safety culture. Encourage proactive reporting of hazards and safety concerns. Key Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation and best practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with employees at all levels. Ability to conduct risk assessments, audits, and investigations effectively. Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and analytical mindset. Competent in delivering training and presentations. Well-organised with attention to detail and strong reporting skills. Qualifications & Experience: NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) is required; NEBOSH Diploma is desirable. IOSH or equivalent professional membership (desirable). Experience in an EHS role within industry-specific experience, e.g., manufacturing, construction, engineering. Working knowledge of ISO 45001 (Health & Safety) and ISO 14001 (Environmental) standards is an advantage. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and safety management software Take ownership for, and lead safety behavioural change. Coach and develop team members around safety and environmental topics, working on leading indicators to drive the highest level of “zero harm” and “zero waste” safety and compliance. Ensure that team members understand and comply with health, safety and environmental regulations, company quality and environmental standards, and always follow safe working practices within standard operating procedures. Proactively lead the way in carrying out hazard reporting and embed this behaviour is in line with “zero harm” safety strategy. Support employee wellbeing through regular dialogue and check-ins. Conduct incident, accident and non-conformity investigations/audits and provide high quality, timely reports, ensuring all remedial actions are completed. The Person You will demonstrate a full and deep understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental topics, underpinned with legal and regulatory knowledge associated with the running of a manufacturing, assembly and distribution business.
