Classroom support are excited to be working with a school in Chatham who are looking to recruit a number of Learning Support Assistants to start before or after the Christmas break on temp to perm contracts.
The school supports students aged 11-16 with SEMH. The environment can be very challenging in terms of behaviour however the senior leadership team look to promote staff members that work hard and make a lasting positive impact on their student’s. There are huge opportunities to progress. Starting on a supply basis and going permanent between 12 and 14 weeks into the contract.
The positions will start on a temporary basis with the option of going permanent after a number of weeks working with the academy through our Classroom Support agency.
It is essential that you have some of the below experience:
Experience of supporting children/young adults with challenging behaviour
A keen understanding of being able to create bonds with students that have had challenging backgrounds and to be able to quickly build trust
Worked within a Pupil Referral unit, SEMH school, young offenders institude or children's home previously is advantageous.
Experience mentoring children and young adults within SEN school’s or candidates with a mental health support/young offender’s background would be strong candidates for the roles.
Any experience of restraint training is highly advantageous but not necessary as the school use this as a last resort in...
