Workshop Manager
Our client is looking to recruit a Workshop Manager who will be responsible for overseeing the entire workshop operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and productivity. Other duties will include staff management, managing maintenance schedules while ensuring safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Workshop Operations Management:
Oversee daily workshop activities, ensuring smooth workflow and efficient use of resources.
Monitor maintenance schedules for all equipment and vehicles.
Ensure all repairs and servicing are carried out to the highest standard.
Staff Management & Training:
Supervise, mentor, and train workshop staff, including mechanics and technicians.
Ensure all staff adhere to health, safety, and company policies.
Budget & Cost Control:
Monitor workshop expenses, ensuring cost-effective procurement of spare parts and materials.
Maintain inventory of critical spares and tools.
Work with procurement teams to negotiate supplier contracts.
Safety & Compliance:
Ensure workshop operations comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Implement risk assessments and enforce proper use of PPE.
Maintain records of repairs, services, and inspections for auditing purposes.
Reporting & Communication:
Provide regular reports on workshop performance, maintenance schedules, and equipment condition.
Liaise with other departments to ensure availability of equipment and vehicles.
Communicate with suppliers and external contractors when needed.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
* Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
* Experience in a workshop management role.
* Strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
