SEN Teaching Assistant - Sensory Support Team in a Primary School
Are you passionate about sensory learning and supporting children with special educational needs? We are excited to offer an opportunity for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialised Sensory Support Team within a vibrant primary school. In this role, you will help create and deliver sensory-based activities tailored to children with a range of needs, including hearing impairments, Autism, sensory processing disorders, and other learning difficulties.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Work with teachers and the head of the department to create and implement sensory-based learning activities.
2. Provide support to students with sensory processing challenges, using tools such as sensory circuits, visual aids, and tactile learning materials.
3. Create a calming and structured environment to support students during transitions and more challenging parts of the day.
Ideal Candidate:
1. Experience working with children with SEN or within a primary school.
2. A patient and creative approach to learning.
3. A proactive, hands-on approach to supporting children’s emotional and educational development.
