Client Taxation Adviser - Hinckley
Our client is a small but successful firm of Accountants. It is seeking a Client Tax Advisor to be responsible for the day-to-day management of a client portfolio of around 200 including:
Individuals
Companies and the directors
Traders and consultants
Partnerships
Landlords
Trusts and charities
Sports and social clubs
Overseas clients with UK tax requirements
Responsibilities primarily include:
Completing and filing online self-assessment tax returns and advising clients of tax due
Providing clients with an available point of contact and providing tax advise as required
Taking client or HMRC phone calls and responding to client emails in a timely manner
Dealing with HMRC on behalf of clients and accessing their tax records online
Gathering relevant tax information from clients and other available sources
Assisting with filing Residential Property Capital Gains Tax reports and advising client of CGT due
Assisting with P11D processing and filing
Preparation of forms CT 61 for companies paying personal loan interest
Always ensuring compliance with our Privacy Policy (GDPR)
For new and current clients
Drafting, updating or reviewing due diligence records
Monitoring clients for AML purposes
Making sure the company has a current engagement letter in place
For new clients
Obtaining agent authorisation with HMRC
Obtaining client ID
Organising online ID check to be done and reviewed by management
Other requirements include advising on and assisting with:
HMRC Compliance enquiries
Compiling and reporting to HMRC on the client’s behalf disclosure failings
Capital Gains, VAT, PAYE queries from clients
Charity and gambling commission reporting and compliance
Registration of Trusts and Estates with the Government’s Trust and Estate Register
Contacting previous accountants for professional clearance on transferring clients
Drafting Accountant’s Reports of mortgage advisers and generating SA302’s
Other general tax advice as required including tax planning for IHT.
Will be involved in MTD ITSA from April 2026.
Salary c £40K pro-rata for part time, c 20 hours per week
