Summary: Caudwell Marine is a start-up engineering company, financially backed by John Caudwell, developing an innovative, patented outboard motor and Vessel Control System for launch in 2024. The Caudwell Marine organisation is a small but growing, experienced team of people who are passionate about successfully bringing this technologically leading outboard motor to market. Each team member has a ‘hands on’ approach and supports each other for the benefit of the programme. You will report to the Procurement & Supply Chain Director to ensure efficient management of inventories of Purchased & Manufactured products / components to achieve both working capital service level (OTD) and ERP Health Check targets. This position creates and maintains all capacity & demand plans and evaluates the necessary resources (equipment, material, and manpower). The incumbent will communicate and coordinate the activities with all programs and material managements and will highlight the constraints. This position ensures the timely delivery of inventory to the site to enable the production teams to deliver against targets, whilst maintaining an optimal stock level and dealing with any supply issues that may arise. The goal is to ensure the smooth and cost-efficient flow of goods to support the production. Main Responsibilities Responsible for the scheduling of goods in line with production demands and maintaining strict budget adherence. To ensure that close relationships are retained with other departments, whilst ensuring that information/communication flow is maintained in the procurement department. Review work in progress to ensure accurate stock levels are sustained. Control stocks on modifications/end of life parts at the supplier to ensure zero obsolescence. Review usage and lead times to ensure master data is correct and allows for efficient planning. To drive “on time in full” delivery expectations of all suppliers, expediting all open orders with Key Suppliers. React to changes in supply to ensure contingency and recovery plans are available in a timely manner, and where necessary escalated to the Procurement Director. To actively reduce the number of RM/BOP related problem invoices Lead the implementation A fully robust replenishment MRP& ERP Model to Achieve 95% OTD Manage finished goods inventory reduction programs to achieve/manage DOH and excess stock reductions & targets. Drive and co-ordinate regular inventory and Data checks. Lead the setup, Manage, and improve SIOP process activities for Caudwell Marine Responsible for the long-range planning review. Manage and improve the forecasting model Perform the role of the Super User to drive MRP compliance, champion, train, and support development of line teams, ensuring effective material requirements planning and control that enables robust, high-quality plans to be generated and reviewed, in line with customer demand. Directs operational resources and processes accountable for capacity and resource planning, scheduling and control and performance measurement and analysis Translates customer, program management and Business objectives into specific plans, programs, schedules, and performance requirements for all operations functions Provides master scheduling requirements and performance oversight for component repair (part mix, timing, and flow at the piece part level) Chase Key Suppliers Directs the use of data analysis techniques to develop production strategies to optimize process efficiency Provides leadership in the development and implementation of more efficient process flow structures, new production planning techniques and information management functionality Be the main point of contact for ERP issues with the group. Maintain, Establish, operate, and improve ERP system performance by driving ERP Health Checks & Rules. Analyse data and prepare reports for colleagues across the business. Manage, maintain, and improve data collection systems. Key metrics will be on time performance and ERP Health Check Rules, Product availability metrics, Cost down targets, Project management milestones, Inventory Reduction, DOH Previous Experience: Extensive knowledge of supply chain process, MRP, MPS, Kan Ban, and consigned inventory systems. Knowledge of setting up production planning systems and working with global suppliers is also essential Excellent IT skills (Access Data Base, Excel Macros) Ability to manage large amounts of complex data. Minimum of 5 years in industrial experience preferable in a Marine environment although Automotive/Aerospace will be considered.
