Alexander Steele has partnered with a successful FMCG brand to find a Wholesale Sales Manager to join their team. This is a field-based role, operating remotely from Edinburgh, overseeing a Field Sales Team covering the UK.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop a sales network for the UK wholesale business and establish key strategic partnerships in line with business goals.
* Lead a team of Field Sales Operatives, providing training, development, and guidance to achieve sales targets.
* Develop and implement effective sales strategies relative to each designated territory, driving business growth and innovation.
* Establish and maintain successful relationships with large, nationally distributed customers and key independent stores.
* Negotiate and close agreements with large customers, ensuring alignment with business goals and budget forecasts.
* Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts and team KPIs to stakeholders.
* Stay up-to-date with new product launches, ensuring sales team members are informed and aligned.
Operational Responsibilities
* Manage and update client database, providing valuable insights to inform sales strategies.
* Collaborate with the marketing department to develop sales-related viral marketing strategies and product launches.
* Support wholesale accounts with marketing tools, such as clinics, trunk shows, and store activation campaigns.
* Develop and manage internal and external reporting to maximise sales performance.
* Provide market data and insights to the management team, informing business decisions.
* Provide feedback to the product development team from buyers, agents, and retailers to optimise the range plan.
* Identify and contact potential business partners and vendors, establishing new and existing long-term relationships.
* Attend trade shows, meetings, and networking events to stay informed and build relationships.
Requirements
* Proven work experience as a national sales manager, with a track record of success.
* Experience managing a high-performance sales team, with a focus on driving business growth.
* Ability to understand and analyse sales performance metrics, providing actionable insights.
* Solid customer service attitude, with excellent negotiation skills and a strong communication style.
* Strong organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar wholesale-focused business, with a deep understanding of the UK market.
* Flexible to travel, with a clean driver's license and a willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.
