The Opportunity
Our client is seeking an Integrated Product Support Engineer based in Romsey. You will leverage your supportability experience to influence and advise various business functions, including engineering, project management, bid teams, services, portfolio management, and sales. Your role involves promoting and implementing IPS activities and managing associated risks.
Primary activities include:
1. Conducting supportability analysis for new and in-service products and systems.
2. Ensuring confidence in meeting customer ILS support requirements.
3. Expanding the support function in line with company direction.
4. Providing IPS insights for customer supportability needs.
5. Supporting engineering in supportability analysis.
6. Communicating IPS progress and risks to portfolio and project managers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Delivering IPS support across business functions to meet cost and profitability targets.
2. Developing and executing project IPS strategies and reports.
3. Collaborating with engineering, production, and supply chain using ARM&T principles.
4. Managing responses to RFPs, ITTs, SoWs, and contracts.
5. Contributing as an IPS SME in bids and product development.
6. Supporting engineering with FMECA, RBD, and MTBF analyses.
Education and Qualifications
* Degree or HND/HNC in electrical or mechanical engineering or relevant defence industry experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
* Experience with bid responses, customer requirements, and cost estimation.
* Experience supporting low volume, high-value products in regulated environments.
* Knowledge of standards like DEF STAN 00-600, 00-40, 00-42, Mil Std 217F, KiD.
* Experience working with customers in a matrix-managed team.
* Good understanding of MOD support frameworks.
