Advert Renfrewshire Council are seeking to recruit 2 Housing Services apprentices. Successful applicants will have their main base at Renfrewshire House, Cotton Street, Paisley. However, they will work across all of our housing service areas including allocations, repairs and estate management so will be expected to work from a range of locations. Successful applicants will work towards achievement of two relevant qualifications; the Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) in Housing (Level 6) and the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) Scottish Certificate in Housing Services (Level 5). Applicants must be a resident of the Renfrewshire area and preferably aged between 16 and under 25 at the start of the apprenticeship. It is essential that you possess a minimum of 3 National 5 passes (these must include English and Math’s) OR equivalent. It is essential that you can demonstrate both a genuine interest in working within the housing sector in social housing and a clear willingness to participate on ongoing personal development. You must have effective interpersonal and communications skills, a g ood standard of numeracy and literacy, be w illing to be flexible to meet needs of the service, an a bility to work as part of a team and be able to use your own initiative. It is desirable for you to have experience of working in a relevant customer service setting, knowledge of the social housing sector and have experience in the use of appropriate IT systems i.e. Microsoft packages and databases. Applicants who meet the essential criteria and who are short listed will be invited to attend an interview. Successful applicants will secure a 2-year fixed term contract for the duration of the apprenticeship with positive opportunities for permanent employment with Renfrewshire Council.
