Join to apply for the Specialist Pharmacy Technician role at Mapyx Limited.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced, GPhC-registered, Specialist Pharmacy Technician who has worked within NHS primary or secondary care (including community pharmacy). We're looking for someone that is well-motivated and can prioritise and manage their own workload, within a broad set of directions. You should be able to assess and analyse complex information, using your own judgement to formulate a solution. You should be persuasive and diplomatic, and have excellent oral and written communication skills.
In this role you will work with other specialists and technical colleagues, alongside external stakeholders such as the DHSC, NHS England and NICE. Initially you will need to feel comfortable in approaching colleagues for support and advice, but as you develop you will work both autonomously and collaboratively to enact NHS Drug Tariff processes. This will primarily involve the evaluation and assessment of applications for Part IX (Appliances and Chemical Reagents section) of the Drug Tariff, and liaising with suppliers and manufacturers in relation to product and price information.
We expect the post holder to be flexible in their approach, to be sensitive to stakeholders' requirements and to exercise discretion as we often deal with highly sensitive NHS and government decisions. In this role you will work in a stimulating and multidisciplinary business environment, where you will develop a wealth of experience to help you build a valuable and unique set of skills.
Main areas of responsibility include:
* Provision of information to support the Department of Health and Social Care Remuneration and Reimbursement Policy.
* Processing and evaluation of submissions from manufacturers and suppliers for listing of their medical devices in the Part IX (appliances and chemical reagents) section of the NHS England and Wales Drug Tariff.
* Collection, processing and monitoring of information related to pharmaceutical medicines and appliances, and their correct representation in the NHS Dictionary of Medicines and Devices (dm+d).
What do we offer?
* 27 days leave (increasing with length of service) plus 8 bank holidays.
* Flexible working (we are happy to discuss options such as compressed hours).
* Flexi time.
* Hybrid working model (we are currently working largely remotely).
* Career development.
* Active wellbeing and inclusion network.
* Excellent pension.
* NHS Car lease scheme.
* Access to a wide range of benefits and high street discounts!
As one of the UKs Best Big Companies to work for, we’re all connected to our values: Collaborative, Adventurous, Reliable and Energetic. We care about our people, our purpose, and your progress.
In This Role, You Are Accountable For:
* Assisting senior staff in activities undertaken on behalf of the Department of Health and Social Care.
* Regularly using pharmaceutical knowledge to research and compile information to inform the content of the Drug Tariff and the dm+d.
* The evaluation of Part IX applications, including the assessment of the potential impacts on prescribing data and primary care reimbursement.
* The production of reports to assist with the appraisal of Drug Tariff Part IX applications.
* Liaising with suppliers and manufacturers in relation to product and price information.
* Monitoring products in the Drug Tariff Part VIIIA.
* Participating in organisation-wide working groups appropriate to the post-holder's expertise and experience.
* Being responsible for the identification and implementation of policy, procedure, and service developments.
* Being an authorised signatory for expenditure.
* Day to day non-line management of a group of staff.
