Family Group Conference Coordinator and Decision Maker x 2 (12 Month Fixed Term)
About us
It’s an exciting time to be joining Children Social Care in Warrington, as we have been chosen as a Pathfinder authority for the Families First for Children Reform.
The role
(12 month fixed term contract from start date.)
Within the newly formed Family Network Team, you will work alongside the social work teams to produce family plans that will help ensure the safety & welfare of children and young people. You will work in a small Family Group and Lifelong Link conference team where you will be provided with regular support so you are best equipped with the skills and tools you need to do the role confidently and effectively. You will be expected to work flexibly around the 37-hour working week, including evenings and weekends, in order to best meet the needs of the child and families you will be supporting.
The FGC team has been in place since 2017 and has built strong working relationships with our key partner agencies. In Warrington, we are excitedly including the family network pilot (FNP) within the Family Group Conferencing role to test the impact of providing flexible funding for extended family networks through family network support packages (FNSPs) to help keep families together and children out of care where appropriate.
Through the pilot, we are seeking to find sustainable, family-led solutions by increasing the use of family group decision-making and testing the introduction of FNSPs – a recommendation made by the FGC Coordinator and Decision Maker.
