Job Title: Buyer Reporting To: Supply Chain Director Scope and Purpose of the Job: The Buyer will be responsible for purchasing products at competitive prices while maintaining strong supplier relationships. Core Objectives: Place purchase orders for products, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget constraints. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers. Duties and Responsibilities: Place purchase orders. Hold weekly calls with suppliers. Negotiate contracts and terms of sale to secure favourable pricing and delivery conditions. Utilise purchasing data to evaluate supplier performance and make recommendations for improvements. Prepare reports on purchasing activities. Work closely with other departments within the organisation. Carry out supplier reviews. Collecting and analyse data to help predict demand trends. Ability to identify areas for improvement with the organisation General Duties: Contribute to the overall effectiveness of the Supply Chain function. Ensure effective communication at all levels. Observance and adherence to all policies and procedures Maintain the necessary conditions for a safe and effective working environment. Ensure optimum utilization of all materials and equipment in the daily operation of duties. Work with and within dedicated project teams as appropriate. Experience and Training: A purchasing background or experience in a related supply chain role, preferably within a manufacturing environment. Strong excel skills would be an advantage. Any Particular Skills/Aptitude Required: Purchasing experience desirable. Strong excel skills. Familiar with MRP systems. Ability to communicate effectively with other departments.
