We're currently recruiting a dedicated Kitchen Porter to help ensure the smooth running of operations at Defence on a full time basis, contracted to 37.5 hours per week.
As a Porter, you will use your skills to maintain the kitchen, associated areas and equipment to the highest levels of cleanliness, and to ensure correct use of all cleaning equipment and cleaning products at all times. To assist with food preparation, handling and storage as directed by your Line Manager.
Here's an idea of what your shift patterns will be: 5 out of 7 days.
Please note: This role is contracted to 2 weeks per year.

Your key responsibilities will include:
* Ensure you are aware of & comply with all client & company health & safety procedures and standards at all times e.g. Food Handling, COSHH, uniforms & PPE, Manual handling, Fire procedures, Quality control.
* Complete, maintain and update all Food Safety and Health & Safety paperwork correctly when required.
* Maintain the cleanliness of all kitchens and surrounding working areas ensuring Health and Safety hazards, issues, near misses and accidents are reported using the appropriate reporting procedures at the earliest opportunity.
* Ensure the correct storage, control and use of all machinery and equipment, cleaning materials and relevant chemicals.
* Undertake basic vegetable preparation as directed by your line manager.
* Assist as and when required with the loading or unloading of supply vehicles.
* Support with hospitality/functions service delivery effectively and efficiently.
* Perform other general tasks which may from time to time be required by, and deemed reasonable by your Line Manager.
* Undertake mandatory training as detailed in the training matrix, ensuring all training is recorded on your training record card and to complete all on-line training.
* Be flexible and comply with any reasonable requests made by your line Manager including if necessary working within other units within reasonable distance.
* Learn and demonstrate the ESS Way behaviours at all times to colleagues, customers & clients.
