This role offers an opportunity to take a leading role in shaping our staff engagement, experience, retention and speaking up strategies, with a strong focus on involving and empowering our colleagues at Leeds Teaching Hospitals, using the voice of our people to inform continual improvement, which in turn creates huge variety in the work you will lead on.
You will be supported along the way by the Engagement, Inclusion, and Equality Lead, as well as colleagues across the wider Organisational Development and Culture team, part of Human Resources. You will have the flexibility to work remotely as well as on site, with some flexibility in when you work, flexing based on the needs of the role or task at hand.
Main duties of the job
Key Parts Of This Role Are:
1. Contribute towards, and execute the Trust's staff engagement strategy, driving improvement at all levels of the organisation.
2. Engaging and influencing stakeholders at various levels, using a range of techniques, to support the implementation of staff engagement best practice.
3. Working in collaboration with, and influencing, senior leaders, to inform local workforce strategies that engenders strong staff engagement.
4. Able to support and drive governance structures, positively leading, shaping and contributing to committees and associated papers, to influence change.
5. Working with and guiding teams and specialties who want to achieve a positive shift in the engagement of their people, to positively impact staff retention.
6. Ensuring all our people have a voice that is heard and are involved in improvement and change; engaging and influencing stakeholders to ensure good practice across teams regarding the effective use of employee voice results.
7. Working in partnership with our external survey providers to ensure successful partnerships.
8. Ensure celebration and recognition of our long serving employees, working in partnership with our Communications team, to lead the delivery and continue to improve our Long Service Awards.
9. Analyse, diagnose, align, and lead the delivery of a variety of organisation wide improvement activities and projects, in line with our organisations priority objectives and cultural ambition.

Job Responsibilities:
1. To work as part of the Organisational Development and Culture Centre of Excellence, a function of HR to take a leading role in shaping our staff engagement, experience, retention and speaking up strategies, working with stakeholders and external partners.
To excel within this role, you will possess the following skills and experience:
* Experience in shaping and implementing retention and staff engagement strategies
* Experience of the NHS Staff Survey or similar
* Leadership experience, with the ability to lead without authority
Programme Management Skills And Experience:
* Stakeholder engagement and influencing skills and experience, at all levels
* Understanding of staff engagement research, models and methodology
* Experience of contributing towards governance structures, including paper writing
* Ability to work on your own initiative
* Ability to take a solution-oriented perspective
* Experience of relationship management with external partners
* Experience in leading and implementing improvement projects using evidence-based practices
* Ability in the analysis of data to inform change
* Experience in motivating team members and coordinating resources and stakeholders in order to achieve project outcomes
* Experience with working with senior leadership teams to create and implement change
* Strong communication skills
* Ability to plan, allocate, review and evaluate the work of others
* Ability and experience of adapting and reacting within changing and fast-paced environments.
Person Specification
Qualifications Essential:
* Educated to degree level or equivalent.
* CIPD Level 7 Qualification
Desirable:
* CIPD Chartered Membership
Experience Essential:
* Experience in shaping and implementing retention and staff engagement strategies
* Stakeholder engagement and influencing skills and experience, at all levels
* Experience of contributing towards governance structures, including paper writing
* Experience of relationship management with external partners

* Experience in service improvement techniques, Project Management (PRINCE2) or any equivalent
