Care Assistant for a young man F/T @ £15 per hour for 32 hours plus 3 Sleep Nights in CT4 - STELLING MINNIS, CANTERBURY - CT4
One happy competent reliable carer required to care for a young man with quadriplegic cerebral palsy in CT4. The client has talking aids and it doesn't take long to get to know him. The client is friendly and enjoys eye gaze games on his computer and outings to the local zoo, shopping, cinema, bowling, and cafes. Non-smoker preferred due to the client's medical condition.
PA/Carer must have a clean full UK driver's licence to be able to drive an automatic Motability vehicle, as the client attends a day centre in Folkestone twice a week. Please note we live in a rural location, so the carer must have their own car.
Experience is useful, but not essential as full training can be provided.
Usual shifts will be:
1. Mondays 4.30 pm to 10 pm. Sleep night at £80 per night.
2. Tuesdays 6.30 am till 9.30 am.
3. Tuesdays 4.30 pm to 10 pm. Sleep night.
4. Wednesdays 6.30 am to 10 am.
5. 1 Saturday in the month from 9.30 am to 10 pm then Sleep Night. Then on Sunday morning 6.30 am to 9.30 am so 24-hour shift.
Weekend pay is £16 per hour.
Duties include:
* Getting the client up and caring for him.
* Good interaction playing games with the client on the PC device.
* Taking him out in his own automatic Motability vehicle.
* Preparing and feeding him simple cooked food mashed up.
* Personal care, PEG and catheter care.
* Manual handling using ceiling track hoist.
* Assisting hydrotherapy sessions with the client and 1 other carer.
* Washing and some ironing.
* Keeping rooms clean and tidy.
* Getting the client ready for bed.
Own carer's room with free Wi-Fi, TV, en suite facilities, and own kitchen area. Good rates of pay, holiday pay, and pension provided.
Job Type: Full time
Pay: £15.00 per hour during the week, £16 per hour at weekends.
Expected hours: 32 hours per week plus 3 sleep nights.
