THE ROLE
As Strathberry continues to expand, we are seeking a dynamic and strategic Head of People and Culture to shape and drive our people strategy, fostering a high-performance, inclusive, and engaging workplace culture.
Based at our Edinburgh Townhouse and working alongside the HR Manager, this role is integral in ensuring that the company attracts, develops, and retains top talent, driving a people-first culture that aligns with Strathberry’s core values, including teamwork, creativity and leadership. The successful candidate will be responsible for running a busy department and play a key role in supporting organisational growth and enhancing employee experience.

Please note: This is a permanent position based in Edinburgh. We are currently operating a hybrid working approach with some fixed days required each week working from our beautiful Townhouse in Edinburgh City Centre. Full-time or part-time hours may be considered for this position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic People Leadership
* Develop and implement a people strategy that aligns with Strathberry’s business objectives and growth plans.
* Partner with senior leadership to shape the company’s culture and ensure it is embedded across all levels of the organisation.
* Lead organisational design and change management initiatives to support business evolution.
* Line management responsibility for the HR Manager and Office Manager.
Talent Acquisition & Employer Branding
* Develop a strong employer brand to attract top talent in the market.
* Oversee the recruitment and onboarding processes to ensure a seamless and engaging candidate and employee experience.
* Build and maintain talent pipelines to support business growth.
Employee Engagement, Communication & Collaboration
* Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and inclusivity.
* Implement engagement strategies that enhance employee satisfaction and retention.
* Lead on all internal company communications and events, including monthly all-staff Townhouse meetings, staff bulletins and annual staff social events.
* Identify opportunities for improved staff communications, including use of supporting system tools and apps.
* Lead the Strathberry charity team, providing support to our external charity partners in line with our company values
Performance & Development
* Establish a high-performance culture by implementing effective performance management frameworks.
* Design and oversee learning and development programs to empower employees and nurture leadership talent.
* Support managers in the coaching and development of their teams.
HR Operations & Compliance
* Ensure HR policies, processes, and practices comply with employment laws and best practices.
* Oversee compensation, benefits, and reward strategies to ensure competitiveness and fairness.
* Manage employee relations, providing guidance on HR matters and resolving issues proactively.
* Own and project manage ad hoc projects, as required by the business (e.g. office moves)
ABOUT YOU
To be a star candidate for this position, you must be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
Essential:
* Proven experience in a senior HR or People & Culture leadership role, ideally within a luxury retail or creative industry.
* Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate business goals into people initiatives.
* Expertise in talent management, employee engagement, and organisational culture.
* In-depth knowledge of employment law and best HR practices.
* Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
* Passion for people, culture, and fostering an inclusive workplace.
* Dynamic and able to work in a fast-paced environment
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Desirable:
* Experience working in a high-growth business.
* Experience implementing HR and other digital systems to drive efficient working and strong team communications and support data-driven decision-making.
