UHS offers fantastic training and development giving you the best possible opportunities by undertaking a 3-year programme of training including completing a Commercial Procurement and Supply (formerly public sector commercial professional) Apprenticeship lasting 2 years and then completing in-house competency Trade Awareness & Duty Engineer training lasting an additional year. Professional knowledge acquired through degree or equivalent. Experience of interpreting and understanding technical drawings e.g. CAD IOSH managing safely qualification must have or acquire within 6-months of taking up post During training capable of attaining extensive experience of engineering installations including Health care codes and Procurement routes During training capable of attaining knowledge of Building Regs and understanding of statutory and legal processes in respect to site developments or acquire training within agreed period of time. Desirable criteria NEEBOSH General Certificate Membership of a recognised professional organisation is encouraged Previous or relevant experience necessary Essential criteria Relevant experience in the engineering and/or building construction industry including site supervision of contractors, working to complex programmes and delivery schedules or capable of attaining through training period. Relevant experience of electrical mechanical or building maintenance and/or design and minor installation works in construction industry or Healthcare or capable of attaining through training period. Knowledge of HBN/HTM, asbestos regulations and Approved Codes of Practice etc or capable of attaining through training period. Experience of managing directly employed labour and contractors in the delivery of (a) carrying out minor projects (b)a reactive maintenance provision, (c) a planned maintenance provision, or (d) a combined service provision or capable of attaining through training period. Management of professional level staff across estates and building services disciplines - delegates workload and draws out the best performance and standards or capable of attaining through training period.
