Main duties:
Reporting to the Project and Procurement Director you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing supplier contracts for materials and services on major infrastructure projects, ensuring competitive pricing and compliance with client requirements, while supporting client relationships and maintaining efficient procurement processes.
The role:
- Negotiate, source, and procure materials, equipment and services at competitive prices
- Manage both large projects and new client relationships
- Support existing customers through direct communication with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
- Provide clients with compliant, competitive and clear offers that meet their technical and commercial needs.
- Ensure a thorough understanding of customer requirements before proceeding with orders.
- Manage supplier contracts to optimize costs, quality, and delivery, and selecting suppliers
- Consult with management on bid finalization, ensuring profitability, and checking compliance of sales orders.
- Record all tasks accurately, meeting deadlines, and ensuring timely handover of sales orders.
- Building a network of suitable suppliers and maintain professional skills to deliver high-quality procurement services.
- Support team members with expertise and managing the sales order backlog to meet KPIs.
The candidate:
- Procurement, supply chain or international buying experience
- Additional fluency in French, advantageous (written and spoken) not essential
- Good knowledge of industry/equipment/suppliers related to infrastructure projects
- A buyer with broad technical understanding
- Knowledgeable about international trade
- Ideally experience working with clients in Africa and the Middle East
- Well-organized, capable of prioritizing tasks efficiently and meeting deadlines
- Proactive, able to solve issues independently and seek assistance when necessary
