About the role
We are seeking a Payroll Officer to join our in-house shared services team, to deliver 3 payrolls to around 700 colleagues. You will be part of a supportive and busy team in a fast-paced environment.
The focus of this role is to ensure the accurate calculation and efficient delivery of the monthly payroll, employee benefits, and pensions administration.
Key Responsibilities
1. Ensuring that employee queries are resolved in a professional, timely, and accurate manner.
2. Completing all payroll processing, third-party data submissions, and pensions administration by the required deadlines.
3. Complying with HMRC regulations and working with the Payroll Team Leader & Payroll Manager to highlight opportunities to transform processes.
4. Supporting the Payroll Team Leader & Payroll Manager to plan and execute the Tax Year End, achieving the completion and submission of all statutory returns.
5. Working closely with JRHT & JRF managers and the embedded People Teams to ensure all records on the payroll system are accurate.
About you
Ideally, you will have end-to-end payroll experience with a good knowledge of UK payroll legislation and procedures, including an understanding of HMRC regulations on employee expenses and benefits, including the production of P11Ds.
Experience of the Civica payroll software would be a distinct advantage.
You will be committed to providing a high-quality service with tact, diplomacy, and the ability to maintain confidentiality. With a high level of competency using Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook, you will have good time-management skills and be able to work independently with a high level of accuracy and a keen eye for detail.
