Job Role: Head of Platform
Location: Bristol (3 days a week on-site)

Required Skills and Experience:
* Proven track record in designing and developing complex distributed systems, with significant contributions as an architect or lead contributor on large-scale projects.
* In-depth experience with private, hybrid, and public cloud environments, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, containerisation with Docker/Kubernetes, and programming languages like Python and Go.
* Strong background in implementing secure, integrated service solutions from initial concept through deployment and ongoing support.
* Proficiency in cybersecurity practices, information security accreditation, and ongoing assurance.
* Demonstrated ability to lead evaluations and make informed technical choices for software and infrastructure.
* Experience in creating or contributing to long-term engineering roadmaps aligned with business and product goals.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
* Experience delivering complex networked systems within regulated sectors, such as defence, national security, telecommunications, financial services, or automotive.
* Experience designing and supporting solutions for far-edge environments with denied, disrupted, intermittent, or lossy communication conditions.
Responsibilities:
* Shape system architectures across the business, establishing high standards for engineering excellence in our hosting infrastructure solutions.
* Define and advance the strategic roadmap for Platforms, driving innovation and precise execution to achieve business goals.
* Lead and ensure design assurance for privacy, security, compliance, high availability, performance, and resilience across cloud environments, applications, security, and service desks.
* Represent the team in key engineering decisions, aligning projects with the organisation’s broader objectives.
* Collaborate with customer-facing teams to deliver exceptional product and service experiences.
* Lead initiatives that elevate engineering standards, inspire the team, and foster continuous improvement.
* Keep current with industry trends in cloud and far-edge technologies to maintain cutting-edge solutions.
* Mentor and guide team members, supporting their professional growth and career development.
