The department of Neuropsychiatry is a regional, multi disciplinary team who come together to support patients who have a range of diagnoses. We work with patients who have epilepsy, NEAD, functional disorders, Tourette's, sleep disorders, Huntington's Disease and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
The post holder will:
* Organising, planning and facilitating service user education and management groups.
* Act as an independent practitioner managing a defined caseload of service users within the specialist neuropsychiatric setting.
* To work alongside other members of the Neuropsychiatry team to provide a service for Non Epileptic Attack Disorder, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Epilepsy patients.
* To enhance service users recovery and enable self management of symptoms.
Main duties of the job
* To support the multidisciplinary team in managing patients with Non Epileptic Attack Disorder, Chronic Fatigue and Epilepsy. Liaising with Community Mental Health Teams and co-working patients (where appropriate).
* To monitor and evaluate treatment plans for people with Non Epileptic Attack Disorder, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Epilepsy and liaising with multidisciplinary agencies, to ensure an effective care package is delivered.
* Responsible for providing time-limited interventions for people who have non-epileptic attack disorder, Chronic Fatigue and Epilepsy.
* Responsible for the promotion of carer and service user involvement within the service and for its provision.
* Responsible for the setting of quality standards, including the monitoring and reviewing in line with current clinical guidance practice and policy.
* Responsible for establishing therapeutic relationships with service users, and the implementation of evidence based therapeutic interventions with appropriate boundaries in accordance with Nursing and Midwifery Councils professional code of conduct.
