Electrical Service Engineer
Location: West Midlands (UK & Europe Travel)
Salary: £38,000 - £45,000 per annum

Engineering @ 365 Ltd is working with a specialist provider of special purpose machinery tools within the machine tool industry. Our client, based in the West Midlands, has a strong reputation in the market and is looking to expand their service team. With an increasingly busy service arm, they are seeking an experienced Electrical Service Engineer to support the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of their equipment across the UK and potentially Europe.
Responsibilities & Duties:
1. Perform electrical service, installation, commissioning, and repair work on a variety of CNC machine tools, including lathes and machining centres.
2. Conduct electrical fault-finding and diagnosis using tools such as oscilloscopes and other electrical test equipment.
3. Test circuits, replace drives and power supplies, and troubleshoot electrical systems.
4. Work with Fanuc and Okuma controls (experience with these systems is advantageous).
5. Travel to customer sites across the UK and Europe to provide timely and effective service.
6. Collaborate with the wider service team to ensure smooth project execution and high levels of customer satisfaction.
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have a strong electrical engineering background, with experience in the machine tool industry, particularly in CNC machine tools. Key qualifications and experience include:
1. Qualifications in electrical engineering or maintenance disciplines.
2. Experience with CNC machine tools, including lathes and machining centres.
3. Proficiency in fault-finding and diagnosis using electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes.
4. Experience in circuit testing, drive, and power supply replacement.
5. Knowledge of Fanuc and Okuma controls (advantageous but not essential).
6. Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-focused approach to service delivery.
7. Willingness to travel extensively within the UK and Europe.
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
1. Proven experience in the service, installation, and commissioning of CNC machine tools.
2. Strong electrical engineering knowledge and experience with diagnostic tools.
3. Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
4. Excellent communication and customer relationship skills.
5. Full UK Driving Licence.
Additional Requirements:
1. 3-5 years of relevant experience in the machine tool industry.
2. Familiarity with electrical fault-finding and circuit testing.
3. Comfortable working on-site in a client-facing role.
4. Willingness to travel extensively as part of the role.
