Salary: Up to £44,000 per annum + Benefits
What you will do
As the Manufacturing Support Engineer, you will:
* Determine and set engineering priorities in collaboration with line managers to optimise plant performance.
* Devise and implement planned maintenance and inspection schedules in line with statutory requirements.
* Ensure all engineering activities meet health, safety, and environmental standards.
* Allocate resources and materials effectively to ensure maintenance schedules are met on each shift.
* Monitor engineering teams and contractors to ensure work is carried out to plan.
* Manage staff training and development to create a safety-conscious and technically competent workforce.
* Control expenditure on spares, materials, and labour, ensuring that budgets are adhered to.
* Lead initiatives to improve engineering practices and plant performance, serving as the key electrical expert for the team.
* Prepare and submit minor capital and major maintenance proposals to ensure plant availability and performance improvements.
* Participate in an out-of-hours call-out system to support fault resolution and breakdowns.
What you will need
You should have a solid practical background in electrical engineering, with relevant experience in a supervisory role. A minimum of an HNC qualification or equivalent is required.
Experience in the following areas would be beneficial:
* Electrical safety and safe systems of work
* Design of electrical systems
* PLCs and SCADA systems
* Digital drives and motor control
* Distribution systems and switching
* Electronic systems such as load cells and tensiometers
