Aviation Technician & Administration Support
Office Based - Southampton
Monday - Friday
08:00am - 17:00pm (40 hour week with 1 hour for lunch per day)
£28,000 per annum
Purpose of the Role:
To be able to Repair, modify, test and release to service a variety of Garmin manufactured Avionics Products. Strong verbal and written communication skills and good time management to prioritise workload are required. Electronic servicing experience is necessary. This role also supports the Aviation Repair administration.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
* Repair, modify, adjust, align, test, and release to service Garmin Avionics Equipment.
* Understand and work within ISO 9001 and FAA/CAA Part 145 requirements.
* Apply the appropriate functions of the Oracle business system related to the Aviation Repair Department processes.
* Set up and operate various pieces of test equipment.
* Record, analyze, and interpret test data.
* Complete technical data on computer-generated service reports and spreadsheets.
* Communicate accurately and confidently, both verbally and in writing, with product support personnel, colleagues, and occasionally customers regarding technical issues related to unit repairs/modifications.
* Access and implement Engineering Change Orders related to unit repairs/updates.
* Assist with internal and external audits.
* Manage and process inventory under department control.
* Process slip and eco rework of Garmin Avionic products.
* Process core parts/units returns to Olathe.
* Any other duties stipulated by the Aviation Service Manager within the individual's capabilities.
Education & Experience:
* City and Guilds Electronic repair or equivalent experience.
* Electronic servicing experience.
* Good soldering skills (including Surface Mount Technology).
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Functional use of Microsoft Office software applications.
* Good time management to prioritize work under pressure to prevent unnecessary grounding of aircraft.
