An opportunity has arisen within the Information Services Department at Frimley Health, where we are seeking to employ Higher Information Analysts to be based with our friendly and knowledgeable team at Frimley Park.
The Information Services Department is responsible for the production of a wide number of key reports, which are crucial to the smooth running of the Hospital as well as national returns to the Department of Health and Social Care. You will be central to the delivery of this service, supporting the development and maintenance of these reports.
It is an exciting time to join the team as we have recently started using the Epic PAS system and are using this to move towards a fully integrated Information Service working seamlessly across the whole Trust.
Main duties of the job
* An excellent knowledge of NHS data in the acute sector is essential, along with common reporting standards. You will work across all levels within the Trust, to support the strategic use of information to inform planning and performance management.
* We are looking for someone with excellent numeracy and computer literacy, who is skilled in the use of software including MS Excel, MS SQL, MS SQL Server Data Tools and has experience using the latest business intelligence software. Experience using Epic reporting tools would be an advantage.
* In addition, we are interested in candidates who possess the following skills related to Epic: Knowledge and experience with the Epic EPR system, including its workflows, processes, and reporting capabilities.
* Familiarity with NHS data standards and how they align with the Epic EPR system.
* Ability to train and mentor others in information management, data analysis, NHS data standards, and Epic EPR reporting.
* Experience in supporting the development of the reporting back-end of the Epic EPR system.
* You will need to work effectively both as part of a team and with minimal supervision making strong interpersonal skills and the ability to be adaptable and autonomous essential qualities.

We have three main hospitals: Frimley Park in Frimley near Camberley, Heatherwood in Ascot and Wexham Park near Slough. It is expected that the post holder will be able to complete a significant amount of their role remotely.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
* Assist in the design and development of ETL packages using data flow tools.
* Support the Trust’s directorates and Trust-wide projects with analytical tasks.
* Collaborate with Health Information Services on projects involving measurement, such as service capacity planning and performance dashboards.
* Provide expertise in specific clinical areas.
* Assist in departmental processes and support the training and development of team members.
* Contribute to the production of performance data for Trust systems and the Trust-wide data warehouse.
* Help interpret Trust-wide information needs and process raw data into the data warehouse.

Essential criteria
* Educated to degree level or hold equivalent experience within an information or performance-related role.
Desirable criteria
* PRINCE2 Foundation or other project management qualification
* Epic Cogito certification
Experience
Essential criteria
* At least 3 years’ experience of working in information or performance analysis
* Using Microsoft SQL to query data and design reports
* Advanced user of Microsoft Office products, especially Excel
* Identifying problems and devising solutions
* Working in partnership with others, using data to make recommendations to improve services
* Translating data into graphical formats to highlight key messages
* Experience in building structured datasets and ETL processes.
* Good knowledge of SSIS / SQL Server Data Tools
* Creating and delivering training programmes
* Very good understanding of NHS data dictionary
* Using initiative and flexibility to meet work demands
* Communicating complex issues and analysis of complex datasets to audiences with varying levels of information literacy.
Desirable criteria
* Previous experience in an acute NHS trust
* Using Patient Management Systems or Electronic Patient Records
* Epic Caboodle development experience
* Managing projects
* Specific experience of community services and information systems would be beneficial.
* Using Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts to monitor processes
* Use of Epic EPR to create dashboards and reports
* Experience of using Powershell scripts
* SQL server DBA experience, including database backups and Availability Groups.
