The strategic capacity manager will coordinate the portfolio of operational capital and process solutions to ensure timely resolution of capacity gaps in line with the long-term forecast assessment. Foster effective relationships at all levels to drive continuous improvement in the efficient utilization of airport capacity through strategic scheduling, resource allocation, and operational performance.
What will you do?
* Support and Coordinate Operational Workstreams: Manage and coordinate operational workstreams for masterplan initiatives.
* Influence Airport Development Priorities: Contribute to the Capital Investment Plan by influencing priorities for airport development.
* Assess Aviation Network Capacity: Evaluate the wider capacity of the aviation network, including European airspace capacity, and its impact on Gatwick's capacity and operational performance.
* Align Planning Assumptions: Ensure planning assumptions are aligned with the latest trends, maintaining an independent perspective to drive decision-making on investments and associated solutions.
* Secretary to the Coordination Committee: Drive the agenda of the Coordination Committee to ensure optimal use of capacity.
* Support Slot Strategy: Assist in the development and implementation of GAL slot strategy and actively participate in the ACI slot taskforce.
* Manage and control night flight quotas.
* Consultation Support: Provide support for DCO and DfT consultations.
Do you have what we're looking for?
* Possess in-depth knowledge of airport operations, including the various processes and systems involved in the efficient functioning of an airport. This includes understanding the intricacies of passenger flow, baggage handling, air traffic control, and ground operations.
* Demonstrated experience in airport capacity modelling, which involves analysing and forecasting airport capacity to ensure optimal utilization of resources. Additionally, have a solid background in change management, effectively managing and implementing changes within the airport environment to improve efficiency and performance.
* Proficient in using IT tools, particularly Microsoft Excel, for data analysis and reporting. A background in programming languages such as VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) or Python is highly desirable, enabling the automation of tasks and development of custom solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
* Ability to interpret complex data and communicate technical results clearly and effectively to key stakeholders. This includes preparing detailed reports, presentations, and visualizations that convey insights and recommendations in an understandable manner.
* Demonstrate a keen awareness of the operational and commercial impacts of decision-making. This involves understanding how decisions affect airport operations, passenger experience, and the financial performance of the airport.
* Capable of leading project delivery from inception to completion. This includes prioritizing workload, setting realistic deadlines, managing stakeholder expectations, and ensuring effective time management to achieve project goals.
* Hold a degree in mathematics, engineering, computer science, operational research, or other related fields. This educational foundation provides the analytical and problem-solving skills necessary for the role.
