We don’t believe in new year resolutions because we’re driving our plans to become the UK’s best housing provider all year round But is 2025 the year that you’ll resolve to turbo-charge your career as our shiny new Head of Learning? You might not have thought of housing as a career (yet), but we reckon this fabulous new role might be worth popping on the kettle, brewing a nice mug of Yorkshire Tea, and reading on… We thrive on feeling a little uncomfortable when it comes to setting ourselves goals. We’re on the road to revolutionising our service offer and we’re putting our customers’ experience at the very heart of our plans. And that’s not just a cliché – we’re obsessed with doing things brilliantly for our customers and our 850 colleagues. With over 18,000 homes (and more in the pipeline), we’re on-track with our growth plan to build 8,000 new homes across God’s own county of Yorkshire. Role Overview We’re looking for someone who is up for taking a significant leadership role right across our business to develop the skills and capabilities we need not just for now, but for the future. Whilst crystal ball gazing isn’t a pre-requisite for the role, the Head of Learning will lead a team of L&D pros in developing plans to upskill our organisation with what we need to deliver pre-emptive services for our customers. An experienced senior leader, you’ll come with a knack for management development, a passion for talent spotting and a canny way of aligning learning with performance management. You’ll wear many different hats to run a busy operation, inspire and coach a team, manage complex projects and programmes, and collaborate with people internally and externally to make it happen. Required Skills The skills needed for this role could come from all sorts of backgrounds. What’s important will be the in-built ability to create, innovate, inspire, and excite, plan and meticulously organise the work, alongside top-notch communication, delivery and coaching skills. Digital Learning Technologies You’ll also play a lead role in defining how we take forward digital learning technologies to accelerate our offer and how colleagues learn. Curiosity is one of our core values, so a strong interest in the future of data and technology across learning and OD is a bit of a given And finally, while this role will certainly be busy, you’ll embrace our love of making work fun – it’s one of our five Yorkshire Housing values after all. Benefits A salary of £75,000 per annum, 25 days annual leave (rising annually to 30 days), health cash-plan, matched pension contributions up to 9%, just to name a few. We have a flexible approach to work so living in Yorkshire isn’t a requirement of the role (although we’ll expect to see a fair bit of you here). Our working environment is inclusive as well as diverse. We believe difference is what makes us stronger and recognise the importance of our teams reflecting the communities we serve, so we welcome and encourage candidates from all backgrounds for this role.
