HR Manager To be considered for this role, you will have experience in HR within a school or education environment. Salary: £51,080 - £56,383 My client has an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and personable HR Manager to join their team on a one-year fixed term contract. Working in a busy and friendly office, you will play a lead role in employee relations (ER) and deliver a high-quality HR service across the school. This varied role includes managing employee relations, supporting HR administration, assisting with recruitment, and advising staff on policies and procedures. You will be a highly organized and approachable individual with excellent interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work under pressure while using your own initiative. Ideally, candidates will have experience in HR within a school environment. Main Responsibilities Develop, implement, and communicate HR policies in line with employment law and best practices. Advise on and manage employee relations cases, including restructuring, disciplinary issues, grievances, sickness absence, and performance management. Ensure compliance with regulatory and employment law requirements. Collaborate with the Finance team to manage payroll changes, pay awards, and pension queries. Provide information to staff on benefits, Cycle to Work, and salary sacrifice schemes. Oversee staff training and professional development. Manage probation, appraisals, and the school’s online training platform. Attend staff committees, including Health & Safety and line manager meetings. Provide HR support to the school’s enterprise functions and international teams. Support the HR & Recruitment Manager during busy recruitment periods. The ideal candidate: Educated to at least ‘O’ Level standard or equivalent with GCSE/O Level English & Maths grade C or above. CIPD Level 5 or above (desirable). Experience in HR within a school environment. Proven experience in HR management and employee relations case work. Strong knowledge of employment law, policy, and procedure. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently. Strong organizational and administrative skills.
