Support Worker Role at SEN College in Stroud
Axcis is working with a specialist SEN college in Stroud seeking a full-time support worker to start in September, working the full academic year, from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
The role involves providing both 1-1 support and general class assistance to students with complex needs, including profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), and those requiring personal care.
The college is well-supported by the local authority and features facilities such as a hydrotherapy pool, sensory garden, music, art, massage therapy, and therapies like physiotherapy, occupational, and speech and language therapy. The ideal candidate may come from a care background and is interested in transitioning into education. Experience with Makaton is a plus but not essential.
Requirements include being reliable, hardworking, compassionate, and resilient. Pay ranges from £102 to £115 per day, depending on experience. An enhanced DBS on the update service is required; support for obtaining one is available.
The location is accessible via public transport and has a large staff car park for those with a vehicle.
