We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time Teaching Assistant to provide short-term sickness cover for primary and secondary schools in the Plymouth area. This role is ideal for someone who values flexibility, enjoys working with students of different ages, and is passionate about supporting learning in diverse classroom settings.
As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll play an essential role in assisting teachers, supporting students, and helping maintain a positive, inclusive environment across different schools.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide classroom support to both primary and secondary students, adapting to different age groups and learning needs.
Assist teachers with lesson preparation, organization, and in-class activities.
Work closely with students to ensure they stay engaged, on-task, and supported during lessons.
Build rapport with students quickly, helping to create a positive learning experience for each class.
Support with classroom management, small group work, and 1:1 student assistance when needed.
Requirements:
Experience working with children in a classroom or similar environment.
Flexibility to adapt to different schools, year groups, and student needs.
A positive, proactive approach with strong communication skills.
Reliable, punctual, and able to manage own schedule with availability across the week.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
