Job Description As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll be responsible for delivering work driven by excellence - and doing the right thing. We are currently looking to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work on our varied project portfolio across the education/residential/commercial/aviation & hotel property sectors. You will be expected to apply your professional knowledge and judgement only referring to senior colleagues for more complicated matters. Thinking laterally as well as applying logic you will communicate complex problems in clear language. You will need to evaluate alternatives, weigh up pros and cons and make informed decisions. You will have to demonstrate a service orientated mindset and establish and maintain effective relationships across your project/s. Your Purpose: Be able to attend offices in either Leeds, Derby or Sheffield for a minimum of 1-2 days per week. Work as part of a team, providing commercial assistance to the client on a day-to-day basis. Carry out both pre- and post-contract work. Assist in the preparation of various classes of estimates based on available design information. Agreement of valuations and site measures with contractors. Produce monthly project reports. Production of reports for client review. Agreement of final accounts. Production of cost estimates. Attend and participate in project meetings. Support the client PM and project team with the management of contracts. Support project reviews and audits. Ability to take ownership of work packages, aspects of projects or projects with minimum supervision. What you can bring: Ideally MRICS qualified or working towards the APC. Aptitude for a logical approach to problems and work generally. Confident use of Microsoft Office and other role-related software packages, e.g. CostX. Market savvy and commercially minded, able to see the opportunity and to develop it. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and identify key issues. Energetic and enthusiastic with a willingness to work independently, whilst also being a strong team player. Engaging and approachable with strong communication and presentation skills.
