Our client is a well-run Blue Chip company looking for a Bid Manager to help run their Bid and Estimation function.
Manage, lead, and provide direction to complex tender opportunities within the social housing and general main contractor refurbishment market, with multidisciplinary and diverse teams to continue being a key contributor to the UK construction market.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the relationship with client representatives in accordance with the tender instructions and tender strategy.
2. Establish the tender strategy for the success of the tender, considering the strengths and weaknesses of the business to maximize the probability of winning the tender.
3. Fully understand the business capabilities and resources to prepare tender submissions of excellent quality considering the client requirements and expectations.
4. Coordinate and give close guidance to the tender teams (design, construction, planning, submission, estimation, commercial, legal, reviewers, etc.) to ensure full coordination, motivation, efficiency, and excellent outcomes.
5. Fully understand and follow all the business procedures including governance.
6. Coordinate and prepare all internal and external meetings (within the business, with partners, and with clients).
7. Ensure proper checking of all deliverables and internal documents in accordance with good practice, procedures, and governance.
8. Follow all Board decisions as well as indications and guidance from the line manager (Tendering Director).
9. Liaise with other teams in the business as necessary to fulfill their responsibilities, use lessons learned, utilize experience from other projects and departments, and hand over successful tenders to the delivery team.
10. Have a full understanding of the project technical and commercial risks, completing this understanding with inputs from the team subject matter experts.
11. Promote company values in all dealings with employees, clients, subcontractors, and other external contacts.
12. Support in agreeing commercial arrangements with Joint Venture partners.
