The Lead Commissioning Enginee r will be responsible for carrying out and supervising a small site based team of engineers and operatives to ensure all Commissioning activities are carried out, completed and accepted to the satisfaction of the FläktGroup Control & Commissioning Manager, General Contractor (GC) and the Clients Commissioning Agents (CxA). Principally the role will be of a working supervisor, not a supervising Engineer. Responsible for carrying out the Air Handling Unit (AHU) commissioning tasks according to the established script and other FG equipment if required. Responsible for working with the Project Manager to ensure that the site team complies with the health and safety measures required for each site activity, in line with the GC and clients expectations and requirements. Working with other commissioning engineers/senior engineers you will be responsible for helping to deliver of the Commissioning Programme in the agreed timeframe and budget. Responsible for actively managing allocated resources to enable project deadlines to be met. Responsible to highlight any risks of resources, financial, programme or other to the FG Project Manager. You will report directly to the FläktGroup Project Manager and Commissioning Manager. REQUIREMENTS The Lead Engineer will need to hold a qualification in an electrical competence. Highly desirable previous experience in HVAC. Must understand the principles of air flow and taking measurements, i.e. electricity, pressure, temperature, humidity. Fluency in English(verbal and written). Paperwork, test scripts and the client systems will all be in English, so they will need to be able to read and fully understand them. Methodical thinker with excellent planning skills. Team player with good communications skills, verbally and written. Computer literate with knowledge of Office365 suite of products, emails, etc. Working at height is required so MEWP and Harness experience is preferred and they must be comfortable in doing this. Demonstrable experience of HVAC and MODBUS systems. The ability to complete Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) to a high standard to again approval is a key requirement. Ideally the Lead Engineer will need to hold or have previously held competence cards/successfully completed training on; using harnesses (ipaf), building and using podiums steps/work platforms, MEWPs, step ladders, etc. and hold a current and valid CSCS card. The Lead Engineer must possess good problem solving skills, especially with mechanical, electrical and controls systems. The Lead Engineer must be able to work efficiently, quickly and work well under pressure. The Lead Engineer will also need to work with the factory to arrange delivery of any items needed on site and to report and support the warranty process. They must be able to develop and build good working relationships within the FG site team, FG management as well as with the GC, CxA and other contractors on site. The Lead Engineer will always have a consideration of cost management to assist with the management of project margins and keeping within the budget. The Lead Engineer will also be responsible to supervising external or internal cleaning teams during a deep clean of the AHU’s, to ensure performance and that all works are completed to the satisfaction of the GC and/or CxA. The Lead Engineer will be responsible for the delivery of the Commissioning Programme, through Levels 2-5. The Lead Engineer will need to actively manage the site resources to enable the delivery of the Commissioning Programme. They must have a full driving license to drive between works sites, other work locations, suppliers, etc, as necessary to complete tasks It would be a benefit to hold or have previously held a completion certificate in First Aid training. Training on our specific AHU systems and controls will be provided at our factories in Wurzen, Germany. EXTRA Living in or close to London area (NW10). Specific Electrical Certificates within relevant field. Experience and knowledge of Data Centres is highly desirable as they will know the nature of the ASHREA Commissioning L1-L5 stages. Holds a current SSSTS or SMSTS card, but not essential. Development and progression to the right candidate is likely with this position, as business develops and expands within the region.
