Overview
The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) has a very exciting opportunity for a Science Media Producer to join us on a 12-month contract.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about science and who is comfortable discussing it with a wide range of people from graduates to Nobel laureates.
In this role you will be responsible for organising and hosting digital events on a wide variety of topics relevant to chemical scientists worldwide. This includes events organised by our flagship magazine - Chemistry World, supporting those led by our colleagues across the organisation, and working with commercial partners. You will be a confident presenter and speaker, and comfortable with live broadcast scenarios as well as dealing with an audience.
We are looking for:
* Degree level qualification in a relevant scientific field (chemistry, physics, biology or others)
* Experience of science communication through qualification, professional background or as a passion
* Confident speaker and presenter
* Experience with interviewing scientists and industry representatives in a live environment
* Experience of writing, editing and fact-checking scripts
* Experience of writing and preparing content for the web, including social media

Although this role is contractually based at our Cambridge office, we are currently embracing hybrid working, and therefore you will have the opportunity to also work mostly from a UK location other than this, as agreed with your line manager. Applicants should be aware that there is an expectation that employees will attend our Cambridge offices as required for the role.
