We are looking for a National Volunteer Manager to join our team based in London Borough of Sutton on a hybrid basis ( approximately3 days on site weekly). Crimestoppers provides a voice to the disenfranchised, reaching out to people who want to do the right thing but can’t quite bring themselves to talk to the police directly, either out of circumstance or other factors. With over 300 volunteers undertaking a variety of roles all over the UK, this post will play a vital part in shaping volunteering within Crimestoppers. Key responsibilities of our National Volunteer Manager: Promotes the value and contribution of volunteers to achieve Crimestoppers aims and objectives. Provides a professional and supportive volunteering environment, supported by knowledgeable staff and providing opportunities for our volunteers to thrive. To make sure that volunteer activity supports the delivery of our charity’s strategy by providing direction, encouragement and idea sharing with volunteer leaders across the UK. Develop and implement long and short-term plans to sustain and further develop our volunteering networks and policy to help achieve the charity’s UK wide strategy. This includes championing diversity and exploring better ways of achieving our goals with volunteers. This includes our network of volunteer committees and other models of volunteering. Promote the value of volunteering throughout the Charity. To embed this in our culture so we celebrate the meaningful contributions of individuals and make sure our volunteers have a great experience with us. Facilitate success across our volunteer network, promoting learning and best practice. Responsible for organisational-wide internal communications with volunteers, including regular news updates. Encourage and facilitate volunteer feedback to staff and management. Deal with any issues / complaints relating to volunteers fairly to all concerned and act as needed. What we're looking for in our National Volunteer Manager: Evidencable experience of working with and managing a significant number of volunteers Successful at relationship building and sustaining these Highly skilled at motivating and leading volunteers and staff Good understanding of the difference between managing volunteers and staff The ability to consult on plans and co-create with volunteers to make sure our plans are inclusive Skilled and experienced at written communication, including projects and management reports Excellent diplomacy skills, with experience of making and following through on sometimes difficult decisions and situation Skilled at volunteer recruitment, from implementing successful processes to assessing suitability of potential volunteers for specific roles.
