Our specialist client, based in Teeside, who offers a range of maritime services, is looking for a Project Manager (Ship Manager) to join their team on a permanent basis.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
* Good working knowledge of Ship repair and/or heavy engineering.
* Strong leader, highly organised, with the ability to motivate and engage with a variety of stakeholders at all levels.
* Must be able to prepare detailed variation costs and submit them to attending customer representatives.
* Ability to evaluate subcontractors and supplier quotations.
* Must be confident to chair Project Progress Meetings and other meetings as required.
* Ability to understand and interpret technical specifications and drawings.
JOB DESCRIPTION
* Manage the day-to-day activity on a Ship repair project.
* Drive productivity and efficiency.
* Coordinate all production trade disciplines & subcontract supply chain to execute work specifications in a timely and efficient manner.
* Optimise resourcing levels, monitor performance and outputs.
* Interpret a technical specification, identify when a variation to the specification arises, and price and submit costs of variations to the owner’s representative for approval.
* Control all subcontractor, labour, consumable, and material costs and be responsible and accountable for the project P&L.
* Be accountable for conducting regular inspections of work areas to identify and eliminate any hazardous conditions and practices.
* Be aware of Company accreditations and ensure all works are carried out in accordance with the company's OH&S Management systems.
