Job Overview: As a Teaching Assistant specialising in challenging behaviour, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and social development of students who require additional behavioural support. Your patience, creativity, and dedication will help create a positive and productive learning environment, enabling all students to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist classroom teachers in managing and supporting students with challenging behaviour.
2. Implement individualised behaviour management plans and strategies.
3. Provide one-on-one or small group support to students to enhance their learning experience.
4. Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom atmosphere.
5. Monitor and document students' progress and behaviour, reporting to the teacher and relevant staff.
6. Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to develop and maintain effective communication and support plans.
7. Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities focused on behaviour management and support.
Qualifications:
1. Experience working with children or young adults with challenging behaviour in an educational setting.
2. A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications in education or child development are a plus.
3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
4. Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
5. Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
6. Team player with a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
7. Commitment to the school's values and ethos.
