Job Description
The post holder will be a member of Nokia's global external communications team, which sits within Corporate Affairs and will support the wider business by playing an important role in the press release approval process.
The ideal candidate has a demonstrated track record in media relations and corporate communications. Reporting to the Global Head of External Communications, the post holder should have experience in building relationships with global business and trade media and an ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
The successful candidate will also need outstanding written English-language skills, a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of how media-facing content is written. In addition, demonstrating a data-driven approach to communications will be favorable.
The role holder should be a proactive team player, with strong interpersonal skills and have previous experience working in communications at, or with, a multinational, listed company. An ideal candidate is naturally curious and results-driven, with a passion for storytelling and narrative-building. The successful candidate will also support the wider media relations team in strategically engaging with key stakeholders.
Responsibilities
1. Supporting the Head of Press Office and the wider team with Press Office activities
2. Relationship building with key media and securing coverage opportunities
3. Reviewing and coordinating press releases processes
4. Regularly updating and enhancing Nokia's corporate messaging
5. Consuming relevant media, flagging interesting stories and suggesting actions.
6. Analyzing dashboards from the data and digital team to discover potential stories.
Qualifications
1. 5+ years in communications
2. Background in PR and media relations, with experience in maintaining and developing relationships with key media.
3. Strong experience in daily media liaison, with experience in maintaining and developing relationships with key media contacts and confidently interacting with and briefing journalists.
4. A university degree or relevant experience in a related field (e.g. Communications, Media, Journalism, or Social Sciences).
