The Role
Social Work England are the specialist regulator for social work in England, focused on enabling positive change in social work. Every day, social workers support millions of people to improve their chances in life. We are taking a new approach to regulating social workers in their vital roles. The IT department is a small but highly efficient team who work together, and where necessary, identify and fill skills / resources gaps to achieve results. You will be critical to the successful delivery of digital projects, in a team of other product and analysis professionals across an organisation-wide portfolio of digital services and products.
What you will do
* Act as a champion for Agile principles by guiding teams to adopt and apply best practices, prioritising delivery over adherence to frameworks.
* Facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups and retrospectives.
* Build strong, collaborative relationships with product owners, stakeholders, and team members to ensure alignment and mutual understanding.
* Encourage open and constructive dialogue to maintain focus on team objectives and shared goals, mediating disagreements and providing professional challenge where necessary.
* Create a positive team culture that encourages autonomy, innovation and growth.
* Monitor and communicate progress, risks, and issues to ensure projects are delivered on time and meet quality expectations.
* Proactively identify and remove blockers to help the team stay focused on achieving their sprint goals.
* Take ownership of our tracking tool (JIRA), leveraging its features to monitor progress and provide actionable reports to various stakeholders.
* Partner with digital teams and other stakeholders to streamline processes and drive improvements in digital service delivery.
* Evaluate team performance metrics to identify opportunities for increased efficiency and effectiveness.
* Advocate for and facilitate Agile maturity across the organisation, offering training and support to foster a culture of growth and adaptability.
* Stay up to date with industry trends and refine Agile practices to meet evolving delivery and team needs.
Your Skills, Knowledge And Experience
* Proven experience working within Agile frameworks, within technology-focused teams.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire.
* Experience of ensuring alignment within and between diverse teams and stakeholders, including third-party suppliers and offshore/blended teams.
* Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to mitigating risks and removing blockers.
* Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and stakeholders effectively.
* Adaptability and resilience in dynamic environments, with the ability to respond to changing priorities while maintaining focus on delivery.
* Experience of fostering teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
* Experience using tools like JIRA to manage workflows, progress, and report metrics.
* Certified Scrum Master with recognised qualifications and a desire to keep learning.
* Deep understanding of Scrum and Agile frameworks, with a track record of successful delivery within a scrum master (or similar) role.
* A demonstrable commitment to inclusion and diversity.

* Job type: Permanent.
* Working pattern: Full-time. We offer flexible working subject to business need.
* Salary: £43,391 per year, rising to £45,738 per year after successful completion of a 6-month probationary period.
* Location: Sheffield/hybrid.
