Job Advert: Senior HR Business Partner (Deputy Level)

Robert Half has partnered with a British institution to recruit a Senior HRBP to join the team.
In this vital position, you will act as a trusted adviser and strategic partner to departments across the institution, providing expert guidance on people matters and helping to shape a positive, people-first culture. You’ll lead on key HR functions, support complex employee relations issues, and have the opportunity to contribute to and influence our overall people strategy. You’ll also deputise for the Head of HR when required, and directly line manage the HR Officer.
Key Responsibilities
* Deputise for the Head of HR and support the day-to-day operations of the HR team.
* Provide strategic HR advice and partnership to managers and heads of department.
* Lead on complex employee relations matters, offering expert, balanced guidance.
* Oversee the full employee lifecycle within your designated departments, from recruitment to exit.
* Contribute to the development of a healthy organisational culture, promoting employee engagement and best practice in performance management.
* Support the delivery of institution-wide HR initiatives across workforce planning, resourcing, pay and reward, and talent management.
* Manage HR data reporting and analytics, including quarterly reports to leadership teams.
* Take the lead on two of the following HR areas:
* a) Benefits, pay and reward (incl. payroll and pensions)
* b) Recruitment and onboarding
* c) Employee relations
* d) HR projects
* e) Data and systems
* Work closely with payroll and finance to support changes and ensure timely documentation.
* Drive efficiencies in recruitment processes and systems to ensure a positive candidate experience.
* Support learning and development initiatives alongside the Head of HR and Learning & Development Manager.
* Assist in budget planning for the HR department and promote compliance with safer recruitment, London Living Wage standards, and inclusive best practice.
About You
Essential Qualifications & Memberships:
* CIPD qualified or equivalent HR qualification.
Skills and Experience:
* Proven experience at Business Partner level or above, ideally in a deputy capacity.
* Strong background in employee relations, HR operations, and strategic advisory.
* Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
* Able to plan and prioritise your workload, work independently and use your initiative.
* Meticulous attention to detail with a proactive, solution-focused mindset.
* Confident working with HR systems and data, and using digital tools to improve processes.
* Financial and budgetary experience within an HR context.
* A collaborative, people-oriented approach, capable of supporting and constructively challenging senior colleagues.
