We have an exciting new opportunity for a PROJECT/MECHANICAL ENGINEER to be based at our clients premises in Oxfordshire.
About the Project:
Providing guidance documents relating to _How to design for remotely deployed lip welds and lip weld removal (for vacuum boundary closure)_.
Using the concept designs defined within the previous project stage and provided to the EERF by the client, the engineering resource is responsible for the production of a guidance document. The document will provide information to inform hardware designers, on best practice for remote seals for vacuum boundary closure plates (lip welds). This will include but not be limited to the following:
Performance of lip welds (resistance to force, movement, pressure, leak rates etc).
Geometry plus surface quality requirements of lip welding operations.
Operational steps required for lip welding and the removal of lip welds.
Auxiliary features required for remote lip welding and lip weld removal tool functionality.
Space required for remote lip welding and removal.
References to concept designs from section 7.6 of the technical specification.
Risks associated with the remote lip welding and lip weld removal as well as recommendations to mitigate them.
The technical lead is responsible for review of the produced documentation to ensure adequate scope, quality and stakeholders are consulted.
Once deliverables have been accepted the clients technical lead is responsible for ensuring they are uploaded onto TDMS and approved by technical control process CD/P/T032
Essential Experience:
Demonstrable experience of producing technical specifications/producing interface information.
