Position Summary:
The Finance Systems Accountant will be key to ensuring that the finance function can deliver accurate and timely financial information, efficiently and at scale.
The role should focus on ensuring all financial processes involving Sage Intacct are utilising the software to its full capability. The role must ensure it stays up to date with all latest releases from Intacct and ensure that any improvements and updates applicable to the Diaceutics Finance team to allow us to drive accuracy and efficiency of our Sage Intacct system are rolled out. This will ensure the accuracy and timeliness of both internal and external financial reporting whilst ensuring a robust internal control framework is in operation.
These deliveries are to be made against a backdrop of ensuring compliance with all internal SOP’s and external legislation, regulation and best-practice against which we are measured.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Full initial and subsequent periodic review of P2P process from creation, edit, review and approval of PRs through to invoice receipt, posting, any credit note or adjustment postings and payment.
2. To introduce purchase invoice approval across the business.
3. Purchase requisition process - full review in terms of raisers, approvers, proxy set up, notifications, ability to amend to ensure Diaceutics is using all Sage functionality in the most efficient way. Create full process docs for Finance and End to End guide for Requisitioners and Approvers.
4. Purchasing – create reports/dashboards of remaining PO balances by dept - at consolidated level. A live view at a consolidated level is the goal with overall visibility for finance and dept view for all HODs. HODs ideally to self serve.
5. Banking and payments - review processes for potential improvements.
6. Cash - review functionality around cash reporting – production of metrics, trends.
7. GL reporting - explore capabilities to build consolidated reports for GL activities, P&L, Balance Sheets, Board Reports, Budgeting Forecasting and Cashflow.
8. Ensure that Group finance policies are followed and refreshed on a continuous basis in order to comply with a fast changing operating environment.
9. Assisting with management accounting through to monthly reporting process including delivery of reporting packs for Executive teams’ Business Review purposes and Departmental reporting.
10. Develop, continuously improve and enforce appropriate financial processes and controls across the Group.
11. Deliver business process excellence, business insight and drive engagement across the business, developing improved reporting.

* Initiative and Independence: Be credible and knowledgeable on Finance and Accounting topics, providing accurate, dependable and valuable information and insights. Be reliable, dependable, trustworthy and positive.
Knowledge and Specialist Skills:
1. Education: Recognised professional accounting qualification and strong academic record of consistent achievement.
2. Experience: ideally at least 2 years post-qualification experience including demonstrable experience of finance transformation, Sage Intacct implementation, maintenance and improvement.
3. Excellent Numerical and Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail, a solid foundation of basic accountancy skills is also required for this role including an understanding of the generally accepted accounting principles. An understanding of business is also important along with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels to advise and liaise with senior members of staff.
4. Current technical reporting knowledge: Up-to-date UK GAAP and IFRS knowledge. Tax legislation to include direct and indirect taxes. International accounting including translation and consolidation of foreign subsidiaries. Other technical knowledge as fitting a qualified accountant.
5. Computer and software Knowledge and Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, skilled user Excel and PowerPoint. Advanced knowledge of Sage Intacct is a requirement ideally with Sage Intacct Certification.
