An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and enthusiastic individual to join the Clinical Trials Team at Royal Oldham Hospital and Fairfield General Hospital in a Pharmacy Clinical Trials Assistant role.
You will be provided with constant support from members of the clinical trials team within the role and are expected to be an active member of the team and also work on your own initiative. An interest in clinical trials and research is required but previous experience within a related role is not essential.
Experience of dispensing prescriptions within a hospital pharmacy setting and in the process of or already completed an NVQ2 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent is essential.
Within the role, you will facilitate monitoring visits by external clinical trial sponsors and ensure quality of pharmacy site files are maintained in preparation for monitoring visits. Deal with clinical trial stock, in regards to patient returns, expired stock and destruction of investigational medicinal products (IMPs) appropriately, following clinical trial procedures. You will be responsible for temperature monitoring of IMPs across sites and ensuring any excursions are managed appropriately and efficiently. You will need to respond promptly to receive deliveries across the three sites of the North East Sector of the Northern Care Alliance. To help improve the clinical trials service, you will be involved in audit data collection and reporting.
An important aspect of the role will be to train dispensary based staff on the background and procedures for dispensing clinical trial prescription. You will need to be meticulous in recording and updating clinical trial related data.
