Our client Carcinotech have an exciting new opportunity for an Imaging Scientist to join the team on a permanent basis. Carcinotech are based in the Easter Bush University of Edinburgh Campus. Carcinotech is an expanding start-up company and is looking for an Imaging Scientist to work within their small team to support several ongoing projects. The Imaging Scientist will assist the scientific team in developing products and services offered by the company to the pharmaceutical and clinical research organisations. Key Responsibilities Performing Immunofluorescent imaging on patient samples as well as 3D-printed tumours Maintaining up to date inventory of frozen samples Reporting results of QC assays and raising issues as they arise Assist with routine cell culture maintenance as required Keeping Electronic Lab Notebook (Benchling) updated and creating reports when required Devise and contribute to internal development projects to advance Carcinotech’s offering Contributing to writing of protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Contributing to regular lab maintenance including cleaning, stock management and equipment monitoring Essential Criteria Demonstrable experience of performing: Drug testing Immunofluorescent Imaging Immunohistochemistry with antibody staining Histology techniques (sample processing, microtomy, cryotomy, H&E staining, and immunohistochemistry) Performing 3D cell culture work Demonstrable experience in statistical data analysis interpretation, and visualisation (software: MS Excel essential, GraphPad Prism advantageous). Experience in advanced microscopy, image analysis and 3D imaging Proficient in using MS Office packages – Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc Strong communication & organisation skills Diligent approach to data recording Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
