About the Role As a Financial Controller/Manager, you will lead our finance function during an exciting transformation. This new role oversees finance and accounting for Wienerberger and its UK subsidiaries. With a shift to a country-led structure, we are merging four independent finance teams into one cohesive unit. You will drive this integration, improve processes, and ensure accurate, timely financial information. Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting : Oversee the production of monthly P&L and balance sheet packs Tax and Compliance : Manage all regulatory obligations to ensure compliance Team Leadership : Build and develop a high-performing finance team, including the direct line management of four Finance Managers/Senior Financial Accountants. Process Improvement : Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, implement robust controls, and enhance the overall efficiency of the finance function. Project Management : Oversee the implementation of new systems, manage acquisitions, and lead accounting integration projects. Business Engagement and Collaboration : Build and maintain strong relationships with the wider finance functions and key stakeholders The role is based at our Head Office in Cheadle (near Stockport) with ad-hoc UK travel. A company car/allowance is provided. Hybrid working is available, with an average of 3 days per week in the office. About You You will be an experienced accounting professional with a strong track record in managing external audits and statutory accounts preparation. With experience leading a team, you will enjoy managing, coaching, and developing others to achieve their goals. Ideally, you will have experience working in a similar large business where you have worked closely with multiple functions and with external auditors.
