As a Team Manager in Children’s Social Care, you’ll be the captain of a group of social workers and advisors. Your mission is to look after the well-being of children, making sure they’re safe and their needs are met. You’ll be the go-to person for your team, guiding them through daily tasks and any new changes that come up.
Key Responsibilities:
* Leadership & Management: Guide and oversee a team of social workers and advisors, ensuring they work effectively to protect and promote the welfare of children. Stay informed about changes in government policies and legislation to lead the team in providing high-quality, customer-focused services.
* Collaboration & Communication: Foster strong partnerships with other departments and external agencies to support children’s services. Communicate regularly with your team and senior management to ensure everyone is aligned and informed about service delivery and performance.
* Performance & Quality Assurance: Manage the team’s budget and resources to deliver services that offer value for money. Monitor and report on team performance against set targets, and ensure all activities comply with council policies, promoting equality and safety in the workplace.
The job’s purpose is to oversee child welfare cases with a focus on individual needs, efficiently allocate tasks, and guide the team’s performance. It involves facilitating communication through meetings, representing the team in legal settings, and ensuring adherence to care standards. The role also includes maintaining detailed records, monitoring service quality, and addressing HR matters, all while striving for excellence in child care services.
